S = Sin Romans 3:23 for
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God 1. God
created me to have a loving, Father/child relationship with Him. 2. However,
by my own rebellion against God (the Bible calls this “sin”) I have created a
wide barrier between me and Him. 3. In fact,
the Bible says that my sinful ways have made me an enemy of God: I cannot
please Him. James 4:4 .
. . Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an
enemy of God. Romans 8:7-8 Because
the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of
God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please
God. W = Wages Romans 6:23 For
the wages of sin is death, but the
gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. 4. The wages
(punishment) for sin is death. Because
God is absolutely righteous and just, He cannot overlook any of our sins –
they must all be punished. And the punishment of sin is DEATH. ·
Sin brings physical
death – it has corrupted our bodies so that they must eventually die. ·
Sin brings spiritual
death – it causes eternal separation from God in hell. ·
Sin brings daily
death – it destroys marriages, families, relationships, careers ... Sin
brings death to everything it touches in our lives! |
A = Am Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that
WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, Christ died for us. 5. Because
Christ died for me while I was still in my sinful state, I don’t have to (and
can’t) clean up my life before coming to Him. I can come right now, JUST AS I
AM. John 3:16 For
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life. T = Turn Acts 2:38 Then
Peter said to them, "Repent (to repent is to turn from
your sin), and let
every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. John 1:12 But
as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,
to those who believe in His name: 6. I can be
saved and go to heaven if I repent of my sin (TURN away from living as I see
fit), and receive Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord. Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved. 7. To be
saved I must BELIEVE that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, died for my sins and was raised
from the dead by God the Father. I must CONFESS Him as my Savior and LORD
(“boss”), and ask Him to come into my heart and take control. |

Now, pray
this prayer Lord Jesus,
I want You to take control in my life. Thank You for dying on the cross for
my sins. I receive You now as my Savior and Lord. Come into my life and
change me into the person You created me to be, and I will serve You for the
rest of my life. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life! If you prayed this
